Someone asks me about partner codes every couple of weeks. Always the same thing: do they give you free trades or discounted spreads?
Short answer: no. AvaTrade charges zero commission on forex. You pay the spread. That's the cost. A partner code has no impact on spreads.
Code 128979 unlocks the deposit bonus. Bonus money added to your 128979 account based on deposit size. That's all it does.
How much do you get?
$1,000 deposit adds $200.
Put in $2,000, get $400.
$5,000-$9,999 earns you $1,000 bonus.
Maximum bonus is $14,000 for deposits above $100,000. Most people won't hit that.
British traders get £160 bonus on £800 deposits. Top tier reaches £11,200.
You can open an account with $100. Minimum for any bonus is $1,000.
Where to enter the code
During registration. Once you've filled in your phone number, there's a small link saying "Have a Partner Code?". Click on that text. A text box appears. Type **128979**.
Easy to miss since it's collapsed by default.
If the system rejects it, don't panic. Complete your registration. Message your account manager before you deposit. Tell them you want 128979 applied. They do this manually all the time.
The bonus has conditions
You need to trade a certain volume.
About 10,000 units for every dollar of bonus. You'd need to trade 2,000,000 units to unlock a $200 bonus. Takes a while if you trade small. Active traders hit it quicker than expected.
Your deposit is yours. Take it out anytime. The bonus stays locked until you hit the volume.
Something useful to understand: locked bonus funds still contribute to your margin. This lets you take bigger positions. For someone still learning, that buffer can keep you in the game long enough to figure things out.
